1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and End of Life Tools ("we", "us"), the operator of endoflifetools.com (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. General information, not advice

Our guides, tools and kits explain how things usually work. They are general information, not legal, financial, tax, insurance or medical advice, and they do not create a professional relationship of any kind. Laws, prices and benefit rules vary by state and change over time. Each guide shows the date it was last checked, but you should confirm details that matter with the agency, provider or qualified professional involved before you act on them.

Guides are researched and drafted with the help of software tools, including AI, and each goes through a separate fact-check against primary sources before publishing. If you spot a mistake, email corrections@endoflifetools.com and read our editorial standards.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 (US). If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.

3. Estimates and calculators

Cost figures, calculators and checklists give estimates based on published averages and the information you enter. Your real costs, deadlines and legal requirements will depend on where you live, the providers you choose and your circumstances. Get written quotes and confirm requirements locally before you commit money or make legal decisions.

Free tools run in your browser. Some save your progress in your browser's local storage on your own device. Nothing you type into them is sent to us, which also means we cannot recover it if you clear your browser data.

4. Purchases, delivery and refunds

Planning kits and the Simple Will Maker are digital products sold at the price shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details go to Stripe and not to us.

• Delivery. After checkout you see your download links, and we email them to you. Links are signed and expire after 7 days. You can get fresh links any time at /downloads.
• Refunds. You can ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, for any reason. Email support@endoflifetools.com with the email address used for the order. We refund to the original payment method.
• Problems with a file. If a download will not open or something is wrong with it, email us and we will fix it or refund you.

5. License for digital products

When you buy a kit, template or other download, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your own and your family's personal use. You may print it, fill it in and keep copies for that purpose.

You may not resell, redistribute, share publicly, upload or republish the files or their content, or use them to provide a paid service to others. The content remains ours.

6. Simple Will Maker

The Simple Will Maker is a self-help document tool. Please read this section carefully.

• We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice and using the tool does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and us.
• Your answers stay with you. Your answers are kept in your browser's local storage and are never sent to or stored by us. After purchase, an unlock token is stored locally on your device. If you clear your browser data, you may lose your answers and need to restore access, so save or print your will.
• Signing is your responsibility. A will is valid only if it is signed and witnessed as your state requires. That is usually two adult witnesses. In most states you can also add an optional self-proving affidavit signed before a notary. Check your state's rules before you sign. We provide general signing instructions, but we cannot confirm that your will is valid.
• Talk to an estate attorney for anything complex. That includes trusts, businesses, blended families, disinheriting someone, property abroad, and estates likely to owe estate tax.
• Keep it current. Review your will after a marriage, divorce, birth, death, move or significant change in assets.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for a will being invalid or not working as you intended because of how it was completed, signed or stored. Nothing here affects your refund rights in section 4.

7. Partner links

Some links on the site are labeled "Partner" and go through a /go/ address before reaching the partner's site. They are marked rel="sponsored", and we may earn a commission if you buy. Partners do not pay for coverage and do not influence our recommendations. Partner sites are run by other companies, may set their own cookies after you click, and have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not a party to your dealings with them and are not responsible for their products, prices or content. See How we make money.

8. Other third-party links

Guides link to government agencies and other websites for further reading. We do not control those sites and cannot guarantee what they say or keep the links working.

9. Using the site

Please do not:

• scrape, copy or republish our content at scale, or use it to train other products without our permission;
• interfere with the site, try to get around access limits or share download links to avoid paying;
• use the site for anything unlawful or to harm others.

We may limit or block access if the site is being misused.

10. Our content

The text, design, tools, templates and other content on the site belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. You may read and link to the site, and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. Anything beyond that needs our written permission. If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, email support@endoflifetools.com with the page address and details of your claim.

11. No warranties

We work hard to be accurate, but the site, tools and downloads are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not make any promise that content is complete, current or suitable for your situation, or that the site will always be available or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings or lost data, arising from your use of the site, tools or downloads, or from decisions you make relying on them.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to the site or a purchase is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100 if you paid nothing.

Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights.

13. Your responsibility

You agree to cover losses that we suffer because you broke these terms or misused the site, to the extent the law allows.

14. Problems and disputes

If something goes wrong, please email support@endoflifetools.com first and give us 30 days to try to put it right before starting any formal claim.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for material changes we will say so on this page. Changes do not affect purchases you have already made. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the new terms.

16. General

If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, that does not waive it. These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
